Considering past, debating then and ignoring present.
Our minds give way to sinuous creations that happened not; therefore cannot be.
Imagining darknesses uncomitted and visualizing scenes unpleasant,
we steal from the now to supplant shadowy dreams.
The light of today glances down on blind eyes,
laughter from next door finds no home here and dies.
Trapped in the yesterday, what could have been,
on how things could have gone foul our time is spent.
