Lonely Miles

Few greater longings of the heart
Than two who love but live apart.
One half a contentment made a whole
When arms entwine with sighing souls.

“I’d hold you close, my dear, if only,
The miles weren’t so long and lonely.”
A warm embrace sets hearts at ease
When finally the longings cease.
