Graveyard

Why, I would say
A hundred years had passed—
If it weren’t for that flower.

It is the same as yesterday,
Bouncing those orange fire-petals
That scrape the sky with smoke.

My flower grows on graying land
Hallowed for protectors.
Those who died and gave their lives
Remembered by my flower.
