New dawn

We shine like stars and right our wrongs, accepting joy and shunning blame

He blots out stains and soothes our pain

We climb the clouds like ladders as we sing our praising songs

Welcome Sunrise

Late at night and I contemplate
Your glory beyond my mind.
I wonder with Small strength, just what lies ahead this new morning for the earth.
what destiny have you prepared for me? what new steps, what new praises, what new psalms? how will i
so tiny, insignificant, crumbling
and inadequate
how will i serve your might
how will i stand before your perfection, trembling,
bleeding dishonesty and doubt?

even as darkness bowls me over
and the wavering mirages worry me in;
my God, the Lamb, alone He stands
as shadows writhe before Him!

i bow my head in broken awe
unable, exhausted, distressed
yet the throne of the one and only King
is here for the weak, the sick, the depressed.

so i approach
and He knights me with light
and my screaming-mind is over.
i am small-strength no more.

New beginning

Be with me this journey
Guide my chalky hands
I am so impermanent
Each day I fall again

Do not let me crack the ice
I do not wish to drown
My heart is flooded by your face
Though tears spill ever down

New life, new days
Refresh my tired soul in you
Empty the bones and blood and ash
And help me feel again.

What will be

Imagine a world of innovated creations
All at once, new colors and shapes and dimensions
A taste that’s not spicy or bitter or sour
Or any old flavor we currently devour

A painting of the color of deception
Or the shade of interest, the tone of intention
Colors we’ve never beheld or seen
Not made from the original primary three

Geometry not of lines or dots
Not solids or hollows or graphs or plots
A plush without sides or seams to undo
Instead made from something entirely new.

Imagine our minds with creation a notion
The ability to design with love and devotion
A splendid, a new, for others to enjoy
Not limited to things or paintings or toys

A whole spiraling realm with joy our assignment
Creativity, lightbulbs and time well spent
Imagine this place, a haven beyond death…
God’s Heaven is even more than these words have said.

Time does not falter

The greatest thing about time
Is that it changes us all so constantly
So no one has loved the you that is mine
Each day we are new
Each day I will choose to love this you
Each day I will rise with love as a choice
I will remember how much you are the same
And how much you are different
I will recall that you choose me
Here and now
And longer, I believe
I will choose you
Again and again
As we change
As time marches on
And the world spins along
I will love the you that is mine.

As God has made sacred and pure,
This thing called love
I will hold it careful and sure,
I will constantly as time remind you
And seek to love you in truth.
